TIM MACROW will lap one of the United States ’ most famous circuits this week when he returns to America for a second Champ Car Atlantic Test with Jensen Motorsport.

Macrow will tomorrow (Wednesday, February 6th) at Sebring International Raceway in Florida , home of the famous Sebring 12-hour American LeMans series season opener as well as the bulk of the pre-season testing for both Champ Car and the Atlantics series. The circuit features a high-speed, bumpy layout and will be the 23-year-olds' first chance to benchmark his pace against other Atlantic competitors set to race this season.

Tim has not confirmed a deal for this years championship and continues to seek the required sponsorship needed to fund an attack on the ultra-competitive championship, set to kick off at the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach on April 25th.

”Going to a track like Sebring will be really good, and just to get back into the car will be awesome because it is such a good car to drive,” Tim told Auto Action journalist Daniel Jordan .

“It’s a really well-known circuit and it’s going to be great going around there and try and compare yourself to everyone else.

”I’ve been asked to test and there’s nothing really concrete after that.” He added, whilst reaffirming his goal of racing in the Atlantic series this year.

"Atlantics is where I want to be this season. It's a very competitive championship with some very good drivers involved. I hope I can put in a good performance for Jensen Motorsport and see how I stack up against the other drivers testing."

Tim Macrow won the 2007 Australian Formula 3 Championship and tested for Jensen Motorsport in November last year, competing a full day’s running at the challenging Roebling Road circuit near Savannah , Georgia .

The Cooper Tyres presents the Champ Car Atlantic Championship powered by Mazda is the United States ’ premier Open Wheel development series and in 2008 will feature a 12 round championship supporting the Champ Car World Series. The series will visit three countries, with the US rounds coupled with by a three race swing in Canada in the middle of the year and a stand alone event at the Trois-Rivieres circuit later in the season. A non championship round at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico City will end the season.
